Season Hubley in She Lives!

In 1973, Season Hubley co-starred with Desi Arnaz Jr in She Lives (an exclamation point got attached to She Lives! at some point, though none of the original press for the movie uses it). It was her first full-length made-for-television movie and that same year also saw her make her feature film debut in Lolly-Madonna XXX. This combination was good exposure for the young actress and Season Hubley became a fixture on television (and occasionally the big screen) for the rest of the decade and beyond.

This article was originally published in September 1973 while the actress was promoting her new TV movie, She Lives! Season Hubley, described as "delightful and bouncy," talks about her role in the movie. Additionally, some interesting details about her background are given, such as that her father was an oil executive and that she attended Quintano's School for Young Professionals in New York.

Season Hubley: Modeling

Here's one of the most interesting newspaper articles about Season Hubley I've come across in recent memory. In this piece (originally published in September 1974), Season Hubley discusses her modeling career and also gives tips to other young women about how they can best discover their own personal beauty. One of things that I found most intriguing was the mention of Season Hubley's height as being 4' 6" (!) whereas her IMDb bio says 5' 5"!

Bobby Jo and the Big Apple Good Time Band

What was Season Hubley's first acting job? It was playing the title character in a half-hour pilot for a proposed series called Bobby Jo and the Big Apple Good Time Band in 1972. Apparently, she had accompanied a friend to an audition for the pilot and producer Paul Junger Witt handpicked her to be the star. Bobby Jo and the Big Apple Good Time Band didn't end up being made into a series, but the association with its production company, Screen Gems, did get Season Hubley a guest role on The Partridge Family later that year.

I haven't seen it so I can't tell you how much she is featured in the project. However, the contemporary newspaper photo and review included here should give you a little bit of information about the movie and Season Hubley's role in it.

Season Hubley talks Hardcore and Priscilla Presley

In February of 1979, two of Season Hubley's most enduring projects were released: the semi-controversial feature film Hardcore and the made-for-TV epic Elvis. In this newspaper article from early that month, Season Hubley talks about her roles in both of those projects. She draws a comparison between her prostitute character in Hardcore and her role as Priscilla Presley, identifying them both as victims. The second part of the article is also quite interesting: Season Hubley shares a few anecdotes from her past concerning subjects such as her father, the men she has been involved with and her thoughts on marriage (oddly enough, she was married to her Elvis co-star Kurt Russell a little over a month after this piece was published).

Season Hubley stars in 'Visions' drama

In late 1977, Season Hubley made her final TV show guest appearance of the decade on an anthology series called Visions. After this featured television role, Season Hubley turned her attention towards other projects, such as the miniseries Loose Change, playing Priscilla Presley in the 1979 movie Elvis, as well as her second feature film, Hardcore. Season Hubley had made a name for herself in the 1970s doing TV movies and with guest appearances on various TV series such as The Partridge Family, Kung Fu and Family. After her appearance on Visions in 1977, she would not do another guest shot on a series until 1985.

Season Hubley guest stars on The Rookies

In November 1975, Season Hubley was the featured guest on an episode of The Rookies. The newspaper clipping below shows Season Hubley alongside actor Bruce Fairbairn and is accompanied by a short description of the episode. Season Hubley and Bruce Fairbairn play brother and sister in the episode 'A Time to Mourn'. He's a rookie cop and she is going to become a nun...trouble ensues after she is attacked by a strange man.

Season Hubley matures as an actress in 1978

The following newspaper article was originally published in May, 1978 and features some fairly candid quotes from Season Hubley. The article discusses the film she was making at the time (Hardcore), however several other interesting subjects are touched on. For instance, Season Hubley reveals that her last name is pronounced "hew-bly", that she would like to forget about the miniseries that she did (Loose Change) because she felt it turned out badly, and that she learned sign language so well for a role on the TV drama Westside Medical that she planned to work with deaf children in the future.

Season Hubley returns to acting in 1984
